The green has been removed and the undersurface stabilised. It is hard to believe that the Australian Open finals were played on this space only a few months earlier.

Some of the pillars which will support the roof have been installed.

Supports for the roof extension to house the plaza, toilets and bar are in place.

Preparing for the slab on the building extension.

The steel work on the western end of the green is starting to take shape.

The extensions are taking shape. The extended bar, a storeroom and toilet are being set up.

The steel for the roof has been laid out on the green like a giant meccano set.

Two very large cranes lift the assembled sections into place.

The size of the structure becomes apparent when comparing the size of the workmen.

Insulation on the western end. Skylights can be seen.

As seen from above.

Looking from the north end of the Members Green. The span of the roof covers 47metres.

All the roofing is on, and the framing for the facia is being fitted.

The walkway had to be dug up to connect the sewerage.

The overhead work is nearly finished and the surface is being readied for the surface installer to commence.

The finishing touches are being made to the external trim.

Work has started on preparing the playing surface.

Under lights the vision is very good.

The undersurface has been spread, and the frames for the fence panels on the west side can be seen on the other side.

The new bar opening in the plaza area.

The new window in the tournament office and the entrance into the clubrooms.

A special mixture is added to the gravel base to create a firm stable layer for the synthetic surface and underlay.

The surface being levelled before the mixture is added.

The area around the green being boxed up ready to be cemented.
The frames for the south fence can be seen, the electrician is installing the lights and speakers and finishing touches are being put on the banks. You can also see the heater strips under the bulkhead.

Strips of underlay being sown together and stretched across the playing surface.

The lining on the inside of the facia being completed.

The playing surface is being laid.

The playing surface is down and ditches finished.
